We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to commission a Dilana rug for your home or commercial premises.

Each of our artists produces a signature body of work. Their unique style, supported by a wealth of expertise and knowledge, enables them to confidently adapt and rework an idea to suit your specific interior project.

If you like a rug from our collection but it doesn’t entirely suit due to something as simple as scale or shape, we are happy to propose a design adjustment to the artist for consideration on your behalf. All we require from you is a short brief outlining your needs and expectations. Please contact us to enquire about commissioning a rug.

A more complex commission may include:

• initial discussions suggesting possible artists for your project
• facilitating discussions between artists, designers, rugmakers and clients
• a more detailed brief determining the size, colour and style of rug that would best fit your needs
• budget
• performance and functionality of design
• providing you with a digital impression showing how your rug will fit into your existing space

We will ensure that you receive all the information you need to complete your project successfully prior to final approval. Please note that not all artists are prepared to take on commissions.

We can also produce a custom rug to your design on a project-by-project basis.

Obi - a dream come true. Some time ago I wished that I could have a Gavin Chilcott rug to enhance my loft in Strasbourg, France. Being a fan and a friend, I contacted Gavin describing my home and the colours I could live with. He came up immediately with the design of this rug in a sea of greens and named it Obi, a Japanese sash, which is shown in the bands of black and white detail. Gavin commissioned Dilana Rugs in Christchurch to make the rug, hand woven in pure wool which is evidenced in the luxurious weight of the rug. A couple of months later it was shipped from Christchurch to Strasbourg, and it was pure delight unraveling the rug and laying it out. From beginning to end, design to manufacture, shipping to receiving, all went well.
